The Invisible Bridge: Milada Blekastad 1917–2003

In honour of the centenary of Milada Blekastad’s birth, Elg Publishing House worked together with the Institute of Philosophy of the Czech Academy of Sciences on a project titled “The Invisible Bridge: Milada Blekastad 1917–2003.” The aim of this initiative was to showcase
to a wider audience in both the Czech Republic and Norway the contributions made by the eminent Czech-Norwegian scholar
and translator Milada Blekastad.

A Czech-Norwegian touring exhibition was produced, which presented Milada Blekastad’s life and work on double-sided, portable panels. The exhibition first opened on June 17, 2017, in Aulestad, Norway, and subsequently travelled to various locations in Norway and the Czech Republic throughout 2017 and 2018. In addition, a stationary Czech-English version of the exhibition opened on September 5, 2017,
at the Czech Academy of Sciences’s exhibition space on Národní třída in Prague. This project received financial support
from the “Strategy AV21” fund. The initiative was spearheaded by independent researcher Eva Spira.

Within the project, encyclopedia entries about Milada Blekastad were written and published on the Czech and Norwegian versions
of Wikipedia.

Further details of this project can be found on the official project website (in Czech).
